The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has allegedly begun an investigation on the financial activities of business mogul and founder of Premier Lotto, Kessington Adebutu. The EFCC has reported that they were able to trace the sum of ₦5 billion to the company since the investigation began.
There are also claims that the EFCC detained Kessington Adebutu’s son, Segun Adebutu and questioned him regarding the alleged fraudulent activities. No result has been released yet regarding the success of the questioning.
However, Kessington Abedutu has not yet released a statement regarding the accusations against him and his company.
Western Lotto owner, Buruji Kashamu has been accused of tipping the EFCC about the tax fraud in order to undermine his competitor to gain the upper hand in the betting and gambling industry. Kashamu said the Industry players have been cheating Nigerians and they need to answer for their dishonesty.
