Still mourning the lost souls of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, over a million petition poured in requesting that the new logo of National Basket Association should be the late basketball player Kobe Bryant.
The petition posted on Change.Org reads “With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo,”
Kobe retired 4 years ago from professional basketball. Before his retirement, he spent 20 years blooming in his career with Los Angeles Lakers. The then basketballer was a two-time Olympic gold medallist. Aspiring basketballers, lovers of the basketball game and several other people look up to the five-time NBA champion.
Adam Silver the commissioner of the National Basketball Association referred to Kobe as a legendary player with mind-blowing accomplishments. It is an unarguable fact that Kobe’s legend will continue to linger forever, written boldly in the sands of time. Adam Silver made it known that Kobe showed us what the fine blend between talent and unwavering determination to win is. Most importantly, it is the impact of teaching both teens and adults to pick up their basketballs and compete with the unmatched and best ability.
Kobe was the most generous with sharing his basketball knowledge, passing it to younger ones and making basketball look like a beautiful sport that it actually is. As seen with how h devoted his retirement days to teaching his daughter Gianna who was also lost in the helicopter crash.
Gianna was an outspoken supporter of women and girls in basketball.
“Kobe’s support for the WNBA and women’s basketball along with his passion for helping young girls and boys follow their dreams made him a true legend for our sport. We admired him not just as a legendary basketball player, but as a father, a youth coach, and a role model for future generations of athletes.” Cathy Engelbert the Commissioner of Women’s National Basketball Association said.
