The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has blamed the recent killings in the state on the activities of a group of cattle rustlers.
In a chat with State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, Lalong said 13 people were killed and investigation is ongoing.
He noted that his prompt response by visiting the affected communities prevented the situation from escalating.
Governor Lalong said that he was at the Presidential Villa to brief President Buhari on steps he has taken so far to bring peace to the affected communities.
The Governor said a committee has been set up by the Northern governors with a few to finding a permanent solution to the frequent clashes in some of the states.
A way of complimenting the Police force, the Governor noted that a position has been taken by the Northern governors to key into community policing.
