We’re not sure it comes as a surprise that the ‘Wedding Party’ has been the highest-grossing movie in recent times, but we were completely bowled over to find it was the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of the decade.
According to Filmhouse, the Nigerian sensation directed by Kemi Adetiba generated the sum of ₦452 million in Nigerian Cinemas alone.
The movie produced by a group of four production houses including EbonyLife Films, FilmOne Distribution, Inkblot Production and Koga Studios going by the numbers was a groundbreaking success.
The Sequel, ‘The Wedding Party 2’ followed closely raking in the sum of ₦435 million and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan while Chief Daddy followed with ₦387 million, King of Boys comes in the fourth place at ₦242 million while Merry Men generated a total of ₦237 million and is at fifth place.
