In a coincidental array of rulings, the Supreme Court has affirmed the Governors of the following states as the legitimate Governors of their states.
They include Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Darius Ishaku of Taraba State.
Justice Ejembi Ekwo of Taraba ruled that since the APC had no tenable candidate for the election they were not in good standing to contest the election of the governor and that the petition seemed to be a mere academic exercise.
In the case of Okowa, the Judge, Centus Nweze concluded that the appellant failed to provide substantial evidence of over-voting.
Gov. Ikpeazu’s case was also dismissed on grounds that the Governor’s election is valid.
