The Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has said it would push for Governor Godwin Obaseki to include local government workers in the payment of the N30,000 minimum wage.
Comrade Sunny Osayande, the Chairman of the NLC, told reporters that the union would not take excuses that some local government areas are weak in revenue.
Osayande said several meetings were held with government officials to ensure all things are in place for the payment.
He said, “They were saying some local governments are weak but we told them to go and look for money.
“Local government workers are to be paid the new wage this January.”
