The Defence Headquarters has assured residents of Katsina-Ala local government area of Benue and Wukari, Takum and Donga local govt areas of Taraba state of its continued effort to ensure peace and security in the area.
This was as the DHQ received commendations from the residents over the return of peace to their communities after months of continuous crisis and assault by bandits, kidnappers and armed criminals.
The DHQ which embarked on a media tour to the affected communities says several high profile kidnappers and armed robbers have been arrested with a cache of weapons.
The Acting Director of Defence Information Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu urged the communities to be patient with the military and partner with them in the area of information sharing.
