According to the new Chairman of the famed office space sharing company, WeWork in the person of Marcelo Claure, in an interview since the company was miraculously saved from complete bankruptcy, it hasn’t been an easy journey since September.

Mr Claure recounts how the booming business went from what everyone wanted a piece of to its shocking undervaluation which led to the decision of retracting its initial public offering. Claure states that despite it being no easy transition, all hands are on deck to sail the company to the shore.

Speaking on how the conversation with Adam Neumann, the co-founder went, he recalls saying to him that the entire organizations put their trust in him and expect for him to do likewise in return to save the company by selling his shares which have by the way been valued at $1 billion.

He also attests to meet with Neumann occasionally outside the office premises for valuable advice due to his wealth of experience and fielding questions from staff on why Neumann will be receiving so much in a payout when over 4000 employees were let go.

On plans for the future, he shares that the business model will change to accommodate more services and negotiate lease arrangements with landlords. He expresses that since the market for shared spaces will continue to increase, WeWork is currently taking giant strides to dominate that market space.
