The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate alleged impunity by federal government agencies on the collection and management of insurance premiums of Nigerians.
The House following a motion raised by Honourable Gideon Gwani on the urgent need to engage a forensic auditor to ascertain the level of misapplication and misappropriation of insurance premiums, also wants the suspension of all twenty-twenty insurance renewal processes of several federal government’s institutions till a satisfactory resolution is reached.
The motion which was adopted by the house mandated its committee on Insurance to conduct an investigative hearing into alleged impunity in the insurance sector and the failure of insurance companies to pay premiums to its customers because the funds have been squandered.
