President Muhammadu Buhari has re-submitted the two thousand and sixteen to two thousand and eighteen thirty billion dollars external borrowing plan to the Senate for approval.

President Buhari says that the plan which is key to the ability of the current administration to achieving the deliverables of the Federal Government was approved by the Federal Executive Council in August two thousand and sixteen and sent to the Senate in November of the same year was however rejected by the eighth Senate.

The Senate reportedly blamed the incompetence on the presidential aides who prepared the proposal. The Senate leader at the time, Ali Ndume disclosed that the bid had no detailed information, and the attached section of the bid was visibly absent

The external loan bid, which is by and large the biggest in Nigerian history, is supposed to fund targeted projects cutting across several sectors in the economy.

President Buhari has however urged the current Senate to approve the plan. The President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan read the letter from President Muhammadu Burai on the floor of the Senate.
