Neighbours and close residents to an Indian National have reportedly petitioned the state government over a 2-year-old lion cub which has been kept guarded in a residential area at 229, Muri Okunola Street in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Lagos State Head of Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Unit, Yinka Egbeyemi has discovered the petition to be valid and disclosed that the lion cub will be tranquillized and thereafter taken to the Zoo today.

Plus TV Africa’s Mercy Emmanuel was there and spoke with those closely related to the matter. According to the Estate agents, when they were informed that there were speculations the Indian planned on bringing a lion to domesticate, they made several attempts to visit the premises but could not gain entry.

The Owner of the cub was absent but made adequate provision for the animal including a cage and a caregiver who identified himself as Dauli who fed and took care of the animal.
