Omoyele Sowore’s case with the DSS is fast becoming a major cause for concern for Nigerians as, despite the legal ruling on his release, the DSS has held Sowore in Custody a direct infringement against his human rights and is the second time such is the case.
The peaceful protest organized by the Concerned Nigerians, a group advocating for the release of Sowore turned into a bloodbath as the Department of State Services (DSS) fired at protesters with several rounds and series of canisters of tear gas.
Journalists at the rally were not left out as one fainted on the spot while the camera of a correspondent identified as Stanley was seized at gunpoint.
Also, a Guardian Reporter, Oludare Richards was assaulted by the DSS while covering the scene.
Sentiments are beginning to build amongst many Nigerians as more and more individuals have cast aspersion over the willful disobedience of this administration to adhere to court orders and repeatedly making excuses thereafter.
