The Federal Government has expressed confidence over the newly commissioned Kajola wagon assembly plant saying it will not only boost Nigeria’s local content in the rail sector but transform into a wagon manufacturing plant in the future.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was present to commission the project says the plants will improve indigenous capacity in the rail sector and help Nigeria meet it’s local content expectations.
The plant which is expected to generate thousands of Jobs will see train coaches and wagons assembled for the Lagos Ibadan new standard gauge rail line.
Yemi Osinbajo also disclosed at the groundbreaking ceremony of the plant in Ogun State says the Federal Government’s rail modernization plan is on track and is expected to link major cities across the country, reduce traffic in major cities and help freight goods from Nigeria’s ports.
