Researchers in the U.S from the institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is currently in need of  80 volunteers, healthy volunteers between the ages of 18 to 50 years who are ready and willing to be infected with the influenza A, the H1N1 virus which could result to a pandemic in the society, and they will be  paid up to  $3,300 depending on how long they are kept in the facilities.

The volunteers will get a nasal spray that contains the virus and is expected to stay for about ten days under strict observations until they are no longer contagious. The symptoms of the virus include coughs, heaving, oversleeping, and shivering, as the victims exhibit these symptoms, the scientists propose that this would help them to monitor the gradual effects of the virus in the human system and help them to find a suitable vaccine for the virus.

The urgency of this research and the need to defeat the virus is as a result of the uncontrollable damage it has incurred before now. The US centres for disease control and prevention reported that over 36,400 to 61,200 people between October 2018 and May 2019 died from the flu in the United States and more than half a million people were hospitalized.

Research has also shown that the virus could be more deadly because it aggravates, any health condition found in its carrier’s system hence, the need to find a vaccine is now before it arises again.
