A politician, Andrew Chiu Ka-yin, the serving vice-chairperson of the democratic party of Hong Kong, had his ear bitten off by an angry protester in the angry clash that happened over this weekend in Hong Kong.

Three other individuals have also been reported to be in critical condition from injuries sustained in the attacks.

A total of 30 individuals sustained injury from the incident, including a knife welder who was overpowered by protesters according to Hospital Authority. He has successfully undergone surgery but it is not yet clear if he has sustained a permanent injury to the ear.

Hong Kong protesters have remained relentless for their demands to be met, with only one of the listed demands being met – the official retraction of the Extradition Bill.
