Based on a research by the Georgetown University Institute for Women, the Peace and Security and Peace Research Institute Oslo, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Mali and Libya are one of the worst places to be a woman.
The research was based in 167 countries and factors such as the Peace and Security Index, access to bank accounts, jobs and security. Other countries who made the list are Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen ranking the worst.
According to the research, deterioration in women’s lives is mostly linked to insecurity while some countries have a robust legal discrimination system against women like Saudi Arabia.
