The CEO of Boeing, Dennis Muilenburg is expected to testify today before Congress on the two 737 Max Boeing Air Jets that crashed due to a buggy software, the MCAS, the first one – Lion Air crashed exactly one year ago from today.

Based on a statement prepared to be presented to Congress, the CEO admits responsibility of the crashed jets and that measures are being put in place to correct those errors.

The CEO is also expected to testify again tomorrow before the House Transportation Committee. Boeing is currently facing investigation and a criminal probe by the Justice Department as well as legal action by the families of those who lost loved ones in the unfortunate crashes that took the lives of 346 people.

The fatal crashes left no surviviors leading to the ban of the particular model across several countries. Families of the casualties have demanded that Boeing should not be in charge of safety reviews and such should be implemented by the FAA and that the CEO of the company step down as a personal sacrifice

Since the crash, the aircraft maker as since made some significant changes to the operation of the MCAS by adding dual sensors and computers to the MCAS instead of one thereby creating redundancy.
