The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ja’afaru Ahmed has debunked plans or suggestions insinuating that award-winning investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo may be arrested over his piece on the Nigerian Police and Prison Service piece.
Abdul Mahmud, who goes by the twitter handle “Great Oracle (Not by Affidavit” is a Human Rights lawyer who was the Lead Attorney of the #EndSars movement. The lawyer advised that Fisayo Soyombo and The ICIR “run” because the state is going after them for prosecution.
Instead, he disclosed that a panel has been set up to probe the Ikoyi Prisons to track corruption in Nigeria’s criminal justice system.
Fisayo Soyombo is the former pioneer editor of TheCable newspaper and is a recipient of multiple journalistic awards.
