A New York State Judge, Victor Marrero has ordered that U.S President Donald Trump hands over 8 years of his tax returns for a state criminal investigation. The Judge rejected all arguments by Trump’s lawyers that his immunity as President protects him while in office.
The Judge concluded that President Trump was ‘repugnant to the nation’s governmental structure and constitutional values‘ and could not allow a ‘categorical and limitless assertion of the president’s immunity from the judicial process‘.
President Trump’s lawyers immediately filed for an emergency appeal with a higher court.
Meanwhile, another whistleblower has surfaced with ‘firsthand knowledge‘ about the United States President dealings with Ukraine to testify. Adam B. Schiff a representative has urged more potential whistle-blowers to come out on Sunday.
The first whistleblower, a C.I.A agent filed a complaint in August stating how the sitting President used his powers to push for the investigation of Joseph Biden Jr, the son of Joe Biden currently vying for the role of President in the upcoming elections.
Based on the claims, this new testimony may offer more evidence in the ongoing impeachment case against President Trump and further break down his defences.
