Duchess of Sussex to sue British Newspaper for unlawful publication of Personal Letter

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly taken legal action against the ‘Mail on Sunday’ for publishing a personal letter written by the Duchess and addressed to her father.

The newspaper raised speculations about Meghan’s relationship with her father and concluded that the Duchess had broken off relationship with her father.

Prince Harry expressed painfully how lie after lie had been created at the expense of Meghan and how the whole thing is a game for some of these media houses. He disclosed that though it seems not to be a safe step, it is the right thing to do to put an end to the private suffering.

Prince Harry disclosed as much in a statement, read below

“Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences – a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son,”

“Because my deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”,

“We thank you, the public, for your continued support. It is hugely appreciated. Although it may not seem like it, we really need it.”
