Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi has recently approved for the Commissioner of Ekiti State to begin a detailed investigation into the killings of the FUOYE students of Ekiti State.
In a public statement, the governor offered his public message of condolence to the families of the affected student who lost their lives.
He also commiserated with people who got injured due to the fracas. He further commits to getting to the root cause of the matter.
The FUOYE crisis allegedly started when students of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti reportedly attempted communications with the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Bisi Fayemi to discuss the poor state of electricity supply at their institution.
The students were shot at sporadically by police officers and 2 students have been recorded dead, Oluwaseyi Kehinde and Joseph Icon.
