Google security experts have discovered vulnerabilities on ‘almighty’ iPhone devices. According to them, some websites successfully installed monitoring implants into the devices of unsuspecting users over the course of two years.

The aim was to implant a monitoring device which will harvest users data such as photos, messages and location-targeted at Safari, the iPhone default browser on Apple devices and in addition gain access to sensitive conversations via iMessage and Whatsapp.

Apple has since released update patches to malign the vulnerability attempts

Ironically, the report hit mainstream about the same time Apple announced a release date for its next iPhones and similar other products. a project Zero researcher disclosed made the following statements on how users can stay careful on their phones.

“All that users can do is be conscious of the fact that mass exploitation still exists and behave accordingly,” Ian Beer, a Project Zero researcher, wrote in a blog post. “Treating their mobile devices as both integral to their modern lives, yet also as devices which when compromised, can upload their every action into a database to potentially be used against them.”
