Apple Inc. has yesterday issued an apology over Privacy concerns involving Siri, its voice assistant technology. The technology firm was recently placed under the radar after news got out that humans were hired to listen in on recorded user conversations to improve the Artificial Intelligence feature without the express permission of the concerned parties.

Although the firm attests that less than 0.2% of all Siri requests were listened to and that the conversations were not matched to users Apple ID or mobile number, not disclosing this information to users explicitly is a privacy breach.

The grading program has now been suspended and the company has committed to no longer retain samples of user’s conversation and added more user privacy controls in its latest update.

The company is now facing a class-action lawsuit over the human-listener privacy violations. For a company that suggests placing a high premium on privacy, Apple may find it difficult to save face.
