About two million six hundred Nigerians were affected by floods in two thousand and eighteen with another seven hundred and forty-one thousand persons left displaced.
This was revealed by the Nigeria Red Cross Society while rolling out new flood control strategies and closing its two thousand and eighteen operations in Abuja.
The Secretary-General of the Red Cross Abubakar Kende urged stakeholders to prepare for flooding in two thousand and nineteen, describing the situation as an emergency situation saying twenty-two states were note spared in two thousand and eighteen with about three hundred and fifty-one thousand persons needing emergency relief.
