Researchers from Harvard University, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute precisely have recently found in a study that Cannabis could help extend the lives of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer currently has a 20% one-year survival rate and is currently predicted to become the second leading cause of cancer-related death by the year 2020.

The study published in the Frontiers of Oncology journal detailing how the naturally found plant can offer significant therapeutic potential in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Flavonoids from Cannabis were initially discovered by a London Researcher, Marilyn Barrett in 1986 was found to have anti-inflammatory benefits but which could be found in very small quantities ultimately meaning for it to be substantial in treatment a lot of the naturally occurring plant had to be processed.

Scientists have found a way to genetically mimic the cannabis flavonoids -FBL-O3G and test for its benefits and achieved very positive results on the effect of the drug on cancer via a lab experiment.

The results showed that not only could the medication destroy the cancer cells, but it also had the propensity to deter the growth of other cancer cells in the human body.
