Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, has described man’s inhumanity to man as the cause of instability around the world.
In a statement released at weekend by Christian Ita, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ayade stated this while unveiling this year’s Carnival Calabar with the theme: Humanity.
He enjoined all Nigerians and all men to return to God and conscience, which he said were key to humanity.
The Governor took bandleaders of the carnival through a power point presentation on the ills brought upon man by fellow men, saying man has lost conscience and now given to deviant behaviours.
“Imagine the depth of animalism and how much man has travelled away from his conscience.
“Bandleaders should go beyond the pleasures of the annual tourism fiesta to communicate the message through their music and that it was time to return to our conscience that qualifies us as humans.”
