Prof Attahiru Jega, the former INEC Chairman has been appointed by JAMB, to chair the newly inaugurated committee on the internalisation of admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The committee is expected to come up with strategies on International Admissions, Partnerships and academic programmes alongside promoting foreign languages.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB’s current Registrar pointed out that it was the duty of the institution to attract foreign students into Nigerian Universities. Prof. Jega was not the only appointee as a former vice-chancellor of the National Open University, Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede, and Prof Olusola Oyewole, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, and seven others as well.
Prof. Jega Attahiru disclosed that if indeed the aim of the committee is to achieve, the ratings of Nigerian Universities will improve and become more competitive globally.
