The Abuja Kaduna Expressway is on a lock-down as drivers have gathered to protest the death of a Peugeot J-5 bus who was shot dead by security operatives heading towards Kaduna at 3:30 AM this morning.
The driver was allegedly shot down for failing to part with the sum of ₦2,000 as a bribe. Several motorists have condemned the action and urged the state police to come to their rescue.
The protesting drivers failed to move their vehicles which blocked both to and fro movement thereby causing gridlock on the highway. Kaduna’s State Commissioner for internal Security has deployed more security personnel to the site and assured that the issue is under control and would be sorted out in the shortest possible time.
