The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its commitment to uphold the ruling of a federal high court in Abuja which proscribed the Islamic Movement of Nigeria IMN as a terrorist organization
The Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Adamu at a meeting with senior police officers in Abuja says the intent of the group is to destabilize the country especially through acts of defiance and rebellion against the Nigerian state.
Mr Adamu adds that the IMN has shown disrespect for Nigerian laws and the office of the President and continued to engage in terror tactics
While maintaining that remains banned, he warned sympathizers of the group that the police is committed to ensuring that the IMN will be treated as a terrorist organization and made to face the full wrath of the law
