The Court of Appeal in Abuja has a few moments ago struck out the suit challenging President Buhari’s academic qualifications.
The proceeding led by Justice Atinuke Akomolafe- Wilson in a ruling declared that the case was brought forward outside the allotted period for pre-election issues which according to the section 285 (9) of the 1999 constitution should not exceed 14 days.
The judgement read by Mohammed Idris read thus
“We have decided to settle on the preliminary objection. To determine the issue, we have to pay serious attention to when the cause of action arose.
“I have no doubt in my mind that the cause of action arose on October 18 when the documents said to be false that is the Curriculum Vitae and affidavit were submitted to INEC in form CF001,” the court ruled.
The PDP still holds on to their conviction that despite all odds, the President lied in oath about his academic qualifications and also that the electoral results were tampered with.
