Volkswagen is finally closing the curtain on the Beetle as the final version of the automobile is ending production in Puebla Mexico this week, today to be precise. A celebration will ensue to mark the long life span of the vehicle.
Volkswagen intends to use the factory to start production of a modern SUV targeted at the North American Market. The Beetle available in both convertible and hardtop versions is now going for between $23,045 – $27,295.
Originally built as a car targeted towards ordinary folks which translates to Volkswagen in German or literally ‘People’s Car’, it skyrocketed into the limelight after the Disney movie ‘The Love’ Bug debuted.
The Beetle an iconic model that has evolved over 8 decades since 1938 will finally become vintage in the not so near future… hopefully.
