coza attributes allegations against fatoyinbo to jealousy

Amidst the brouhaha caused by allegations of rape against the founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo, his beloved wife, Modele has hinted she can never divorce her husband no matter the circumstances or challenges facing their union.

“I’m not your friend if you don’t celebrate this man,” Modele told worshippers at the service on Sunday July 7 at the Abuja headquarters of the assembly.

“One of the things I say about my husband is that I would have never had the opportunity — I used to be so shy to talk to one person. I used to let him do all the talking because I was a very introverted person but he was able to help me see, like he was able to help a lot of us see, that there was greatness in me. As for me Modele, until I see Jesus, my surname will never change. So, I don’t have a problem standing before you this morning. The Lagos church, the Ilorin church, the Port Harcourt church — anywhere he is, Pastor Biodun is the father of that church. I’m not your friend if you don’t celebrate this man.”

Modele’s statement comes two weeks after the release of a viral video, by Y!Naija, in which Busola Dakolo, wife of popular musician Timi Dakolo, accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of raping her.

The allegation sparked outrage which led to protests at the Abuja and Lagos churches of COZA with the protesters demanding justice and for the pastor to step down for investigations. Fatoyinbo announced his leave of absence from the pulpit on penultimate Monday.

His wife seems to have taken over the pulpit.
