The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, on Thursday, quizzed and detained embattled Senator Elisha Abbo who assaulted a nursing mother at an sex toy shop in Abuja.
The suspect, who went to the command in response to the police summons, was taken into custody.
The lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District had come under backlash following the release of a video showing how he assaulted the lady at an adult toy shop in Abuja.
Mr Ciroma confirmed to The PUNCH that Abbo was questioned and taken into custody. “We have questioned him and he is in our custody, but I can’t say if he would be released today (Thursday).
“It depends on the extent of our investigations; it depends on our discretion and how far we have gone with the investigation,” Ciroma said.
He added that detectives had questioned the assault victim.
