Nigeria agrees to join Africa free trade zone

Africa’s biggest economy, Nigeria, has agreed to join the Africa free trade zone.

This was revealed via the President’s official twitter handle that Nigeria would sign the Africa free trade agreement at the coming African Union summit.

The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) would eliminate tariffs between member states.

This boasts of a potential market of 1.2 billion people with a combined GDP of more than $2.2 trillion.

The only countries remaining to join the AfCFTA are Benin and Eritrea.
