Swaziland, now known as eSwatini has banned the importation of live pigs from other countries that have tested positive for African Swine Fever (ASF).
All the imported pigs are expected to undergo a compulsory 30-day quarantine according to a correspondent identified as Dlamini. Also movement of local pigs will be closely monitored.
The veterinaries are currently working on creating an identification system and traceability system.
This decision comes as the South African Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development disclosed that African Swine Fever has now reached the fourth Province.
