Two warnings had been sent to a U.S. drone minutes before it was hit but received no reply
Amirali Hajizadeh, the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards aerospace division, said on Iranian State Television that two warnings were issued 10 minutes before the missile was fired at the drone.
He said the drone pilot heard authority warnings but paid no attention to them, claiming the aircraft had violated Iran borders.
Iran said it had shot down an unmanned U.S. military surveillance drone with a surface-to-air missile after it entered Iranian territorial waters on Thursday (June 20).
