Continuous heavy rain caused flooding in six cities and 38 counties of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. As of 15:00 Wednesday, more than 590,000 people had been affected, with 17 dead and nine missing.
Heavy rain has also hit 235 observation stations in 43 counties in southwest China’s Guizhou Province from Tuesday night till Wednesday morning.
At about 21:00 Tuesday, the precipitation in Shuidong Town of Bijie City reached 104 millimeters. Some vehicles were swept away in a flash flood and more than 1,500 people were affected.
