World number four, Rory McIlroy won the RBC Canadian Open courtesy of a sensational final round of 61.
The Northern Irishman smashed the tournament record by five shots to finish ahead of the field on twenty-two under, for his 16th career PGA Tour title.
McIlroy’s sublime form in the final round which saw him finish on nine under par for the day meant Irish golfer, Shane Lowry, and American Webb Simpson finished tied for second place.
Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell’s eighth-place finish at the tourney sealed his place at The Open Championship in his home town of Portrush.
Rory McIlroy’s next tournament is the U.S. Open which tees off at Pebble Beach Golf Links from the 13th to the 16th of June.
