The current governor of Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha, has announced that he is inheriting a state with ‘institutional decay’.
Many other governors have also aired their opinions regarding the situation of things in the state they are now charged with governing.
The question Nigerians now ask is ‘should the horrible situation of things in states across the country make us hold these governors less accountable to keeping the promises they made while campaigning for office?
Mr. Francis Chilaka, a political analyst, believes that during his 8 years in office, the former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, spent so much money doing media stunts in the state as opposed taking care of the people he was elected to govern.
Commissioning projects publicly at the tale end of his tenure in office, according to Mr Francis Chilaka, was a mere show of mediocracy.
