It is an unspoken unofficial culture norm for casting directors to either give a seemingly vague response or to be completely mute on giving any feedback whatsoever in regards to why an actor was not chosen for a role.
However, this norm was not enough to quench the comedy actress Tiffany Haddish’s curiosity.
She has admitted to recording privately what was said about her after a tryout, after purposely leaving her handbag in the room with her on record mode.

The ‘Girls Trip’ star exposed what was said by the casting directors to be extremely condescending and racist, whereby they stated their desire to cast white girls over her who in their words were too ghetto and not urban enough.
