Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde encounters trouble on way to swearing in ceremony

The newly sworn-in governor of Oyo state, Mr Oluwaseyi Makinde is the happiest man at the moment following his triumph despite the trouble he enocuntered on the way to the event.

The swearing in of the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party suffered an initial delay as the convoy of the governor was locked down in traffic along the Liberty Road due to heavy movement of vehicles and persons to the venue.

The event slated for 10am started at about 11:20 ten minutes after the arrival of the governor to the venue, a 40,000 capacity Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.

Owing to the heavy vehicular movement into the venue led to heavy traffic congestion as many people were stranded on different parts of the routes leading to the stadium.

Mr Makinde, flanked by his wife, Omini, and their children, took the oath of office at 12.17 p.m, while his deputy, Mr Olaniyan took his earlier at 11.57 a.m.

At the ceremony were former governors of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose; Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and Oyo, Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Others are the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji; Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; Ayo Adebanjo; Biodun Olujimi; and Hosea Agboola.
