WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder has announced a rematch has been agreed with Cuban heavyweight boxer, Luis Ortiz for his next title defence.
Details of the rematch, with regards to date, venue and purse money are yet to be announced but the fight is expected to be staged in the US during the summer.
The first fight between Wilder and Ortiz took place last year, with the former knocking out the latter in the 10th round.
The agreed deal for a rematch with Ortiz further pushes back the much anticipated heavyweight unification bout between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
Joshua, the IBO, IBF, WBO and WBA ‘super’ heavyweight champion has stated his desire to have talks with Deontay Wilder one-on-one to ensure a fight is agreed this year.
