World number six, Petra Kvitova has announced her withdrawal from the ongoing French Open due to a forearm injury.
The Czech’s withdrawal comes just hours before she was due to play her first round match against Romania’s Sorana Cristea.
Kvitova has been battling with various injuries in recent weeks, with a calf injury forcing her to retire from her match against Maria Sakkari at the Italian Open two weeks ago.
The 29-year old has been replaced in the draw by Slovenia’s teenage lucky loser, Kaia Juvan, who will be making her Grand Slam debut.
