The British Prime Minister, Theresa May has finally announced plans to step down from her position due to the insurmountable pressure placed on her after failing to deliver Brexit.
It was a long and tumultous battle for the leader of the Conservative party as she lost many senior cabinet members who failed to rally behind her Brexit plan. In a very emotional speech, the outgoing Prime Minister expressed her regrets for not delivering the Brexit deal despite doing her best.
36 Ministers quit during her time in office as a sign of protest against her and the final blow was dealt by Andrea Leadsom, the Leader of the House of Commons which simply meant she was unable to win the support of the Tories.
Theresa May will continue to serve until a replacement is selected. She will officially step down on June 7.
