Chelsea must pay former boss Antonio Conte £9million after the Italian won his legal appeal, according to reports.

The Blues sacked Conte last summer and have been in a long legal dispute with the former manager.

He departed after a poor season in the Premier League where he is believed to have fallen out with a number of players.

That came the campaign after Conte had led Chelsea to the Premier League though he did win the FA Cup in his final season.

Chelsea have been ordered to pay Conte £9m in compensation with the Blues not planning to appeal the verdict.

It’s claimed that an arbitration tribunal was held after Chelsea refused to pay the final year of his salary that Conte believed he was entitled to.

The Blues reportedly believed that Conte’s behaviour last season put him in breach of his contract.

However it’s the manager that has won the case and Conte could now be set to return to management.

Conte has been linked with a return to Juventus as well as the Inter Milan job.

His relations with Juve chairman Andrea Agnelli are still strained after he left the club to take over the Italian national team so that move looks unlikely.

That’s despite Conte saying last month that he was unsure when he would return to management.
