U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a new threat to Iran via social media, tweeting that a conflict would be the “official end” of Iran.
This as Saudi Arabia warns it is stood ready to respond with, quote, “all strength” and says it’s up to Iran to avoid a conflict in the Middle East.
The heighten rhetoric follows last week’s attacks on Saudi oil assets and on Sunday (May 19) the firing of a rocket into Baghdad’s heavily fortified “Green Zone” that exploded near the U.S. embassy.
There was no claim of responsibility or casualties but the U.S. says they are taking the incident very seriously.
