After President’s Trump announcement to discontinue business with ‘foreign adversaries’ a.k.a Huawei, Google has discontinued Huawei’s license and place the company on its Entity list – a trade blacklist after the executive order by the U.S President.
What this means is that all business operations with Huawei will cease effective immediately. As a result, Huawei will lose access to updates from the Android Operating System and no further android security updates for all their devices.
Huawei is also forbidden from buying components and parts from U>S Companies without the approval of the U.S government which seems highly unlikely in this case.
On the flip side, Huawei attests to have been preparing for any kind of android ban and has hitherto prepared over the course of six years to meet any such challenge head on.
The ban will definitely be a major blow to Huawei, however, in a press statement, Huawei has also suggested that it’s no one way street as the ban will affect ten thousands of American jobs and affect companies in partnerships with Huawei alike.
