Sudan's Omar Bashir charged over killings of Protesters

Former Sudanese President Omar Bashir has been charged with the murder of anti-government protesters by prosecutors in the country.

Al-Bashir stepped down after a sustained public outcry for 4 months against his regimen. He was ousted on April 11. The Sudanese Prosecutor General yesterday in a statement declared that Bashir and some others have been charged for inciting and participating in the killing of demonstrators.

According to the physicians for Human Rights, an estimated 60 people died during the crackdown on the protesters. Bashir is currently domiciled in a high-security prison in Khartoum and hasn’t been seen since his arrest.
