In a press conference on Monday, Liverpool’s coach, Jurgen Klopp confirmed the striking duo of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino will miss the crucial UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona.
Roberto Firmino has been struggling with a groin injury in recent weeks while Salah was stretchered off during Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United with a head injury.
The absence of both forwards compounds the difficulty of the task for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are 3-0 down after the first leg.
As regards Salah’s injury, Klopp affirmed that the Egyptian was concussed and his omission from the team is not down to precautionary measures but adherence to concussion procedures.
He, however, said the Egyptian feels good and should be ready for Liverpool’s final game of the season at Anfield against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
