The Benue State Government has constituted a 46-member committee with the responsibility of studying the current structure of the government as well as make suggestions that will strengthen and position the administration to fulfil its mandate in its second term.

The State Governor, Samuel Ortom, inaugurated the committee which was given a four week time frame on Monday at the Government House, Makurdi, the state’s capital.

Inaugurating the 46-member transition committee, Governor Ortom expressed confidence that members will live up to the expectations of the state and provide a working document/roadmap for the government to improve in its second term in office.

The Committee’s Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, pledged to work collectively in the interest of the state adding that the committee will be open to inputs from citizens.

Ayu also hoped that the state government would keep its word regarding the implementation of the committee’s findings and recommendations to the letter.
